2022 State of the County Forum

After a global pandemic and two years of meeting virtually, Broward Workshop members and their guest, plus almost 1,000 business and civic leaders, and elected officials from Broward County and South Florida were eager to see each other on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, for Broward Workshop's 14th Annual State of the County Forum.

Broward County Mayor, the Honorable Michael Udine, delivered remarks about Broward County’s metrics and the county commission’s goals of increasing the region’s economic wealth and development.

This year’s forum was moderated by Broward Workshop Chair, Juliet Roulhac, Florida Power and Light Company. She provided Workshop members and their guests with an overview of Broward Workshop’s key initiatives. Walter B. Duke III, Walter Duke + Partners, and Chair of the Broward Workshop’s Affordable Housing Committee expanded on the Workshop’s initiatives in the area of housing affordability in Broward County.

Tony Carvajal, Executive Vice-President, Florida TaxWatch, provided the annual update regarding Broward County Economic Benchmarks.

This year’s keynote speaker was Kim Lear, Founder, Inlay Insights. Ms. Lear shared insights into how generational influences shape how we think, act, and relate according to her cutting-edge demographic research.
